List the cables you're pulling — Cat6, HDMI, fibre, SDI, speaker, power. Get the minimum trade size for EMT, PVC Schedule 40 or RMC using NEC Chapter 9 Table 4 inside diameters and Table 1 fill limits (53% / 31% / 40%). Warns on power mixed with Class 2 or communications cable, on three-cable jam ratios, and when the run exceeds 4 inch.

- ▸ NEC Chapter 9 Table 1 fill: 53% for one cable, 31% for two, 40% for three or more. Round up to the next trade size, never down.
- ▸ No more than 360° of bends between pull points (NEC 358.26 / 352.26 / 344.26). Four 90s and you need a pull box — offsets and kicks count.
- ▸ Planning to pull more later? Size for the future bundle now — a cable pulled into a 40%-full conduit past 90° bends will skin its jacket. Or leave a pull string and an empty spare conduit alongside.
- ▸ Table 4 IDs used here are nominal; actual EMT, PVC and RMC differ by 1–2 mm at each size, which is why the type toggle matters at the margin.
