The rules of this website.

Last updated: May 20, 2026

pending counsel review

This draft accurately describes what the site does today. It has not yet been reviewed by a legal professional. Once it is, this notice will be removed.

The short version

This website is informational. We're not selling anything through it. By using the site, you agree to a few common-sense rules: don't try to break it, don't pretend to be us, and don't expect us to be liable if something on the site is out of date by the time you read it.

If we ever do something on this site that requires more than a handshake — e.g. an online quoting tool, scheduled services, or anything involving payment — these terms get expanded first, and we'll tell you on this page when they do.

Acceptance

By accessing or using pittwater.co (or the project demo subdomain pitth2o.com), you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

These terms apply to the public website only. Engagements where you've signed a Pittwater statement of work, master services agreement, or NDA are governed by those documents, not by this page.

What this site is

Pittwater is a Connecticut-based AV systems integration firm. This website exists to (a) explain what we do, (b) show samples of our work, (c) give the AV industry a few useful calculators, (d) demonstrate our live-control bridge to interested clients, (e) provide a transparent read-out of how we monitor client AV systems via the /monitoring page, and (f) let people send us a note when they'd like to start a conversation.

We do not currently sell products or services through this website. No transactions happen here. Nothing on the site is an offer to enter a contract — every engagement begins with a conversation, a scope, and a signed agreement.

The numbers and events shown on the /monitoring page come from our real third-party monitoring backend (XYTE) and reflect the actual fleet we watch — but every customer, site, and device identifier on that page is replaced with a hashed code before rendering. The page is illustrative of our monitoring practice; it is not a service level agreement, performance guarantee, or representation about any specific customer.

Intellectual property

The site, its design, its source code, its written content, our brand marks ("Pittwater," the wave logo), our case-study write-ups, and the AV calculators in the Tools section are owned by Pittwater or licensed to us. You may:

- View and read the site - Share links to specific pages - Quote short excerpts in editorial or commentary contexts with attribution - Use the calculators on the Tools section for your own field work

You may not:

- Scrape, mirror, republish, or repackage the site or its content - Use Pittwater's name, logo, or case-study content in commercial materials without written permission - Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract any part of the live-control demo's source

Third-party brand marks shown on the site (Crestron, Q-SYS, Cisco, etc.) belong to those vendors and appear in our Brands section under fair-use representation of our authorized-dealer relationships.

When you submit something

When you submit a contact form, a careers application, or interact with the live demo, you confirm that:

- The information you provided is yours to submit (i.e. you didn't impersonate someone or use a colleague's contact info without permission) - You won't include content that's unlawful, defamatory, infringing, malicious, or harassing - You grant us the limited right to read, store, route internally, and respond to whatever you sent — that's it; we don't get any rights to your IP or your business plans beyond what's needed to answer you

We may decline to respond to anything we judge to be spam, abusive, or out of scope. That's a discretionary call on our end and doesn't create any obligation.

The live demo

The "try the live demo" feature on our homepage lets a visitor physically toggle lights, switchable glass, and a video wall in our Brookfield office, while watching a live camera feed. By using it, you agree that:

- You're operating real hardware in our real office, and your actions are visible to anyone watching the feed - You won't attempt to abuse the system (rapid-fire commands beyond the published rate limit, attempts to bypass the queue, attempts to inject commands not exposed in the UI) - Your session is anonymous but logged for queue fairness — the logs are deleted automatically within ~1 hour - If we determine your use is abusive or threatens the hardware, we'll cut your session and may temporarily block your IP. We do not pursue civil action for ordinary misuse; the rate limiter handles that for us.

The demo is provided "as is." It may be offline, queued, or restricted from time to time. We don't guarantee availability.

Acceptable use

Don't use this website to:

- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems, our clients' systems, or anyone else's - Probe for security vulnerabilities outside of a good-faith disclosure (see the security paragraph in our Privacy Policy) - Submit malware, viruses, or any code designed to harm - Scrape content for AI training or commercial republication without our written permission - Use the live demo for any purpose other than evaluating our work

We reserve the right to block, throttle, or restrict access if we believe these rules are being broken.

Disclaimers

Everything on this site is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We don't warrant that:

- The information on the site is accurate, complete, or current — we try, but the AV industry moves and our case studies are anonymized - The site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times - The AV calculators in the Tools section are suitable for any particular engineering decision — they exist for back-of-envelope work; do your own load math before betting a project on it - The live-control demo will be available when you want to try it

Links to third-party websites are provided for convenience. We don't endorse their content and aren't responsible for what they do with your data once you click through.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Pittwater is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of this website — including but not limited to lost revenue, lost data, business interruption, or reliance on information shown here.

Our total aggregate liability arising from your use of this website is limited to one hundred US dollars ($100) or the amount you've paid us for use of the website (which is zero), whichever is greater.

This limitation does not apply to our gross negligence, willful misconduct, or to anything we're not legally permitted to disclaim. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations on liability; in those cases, our liability is limited to the smallest amount allowed.

Indemnification

If your use of the website causes a claim against Pittwater by a third party — for example, you submit content that infringes someone's rights, or you abuse the live demo in a way that damages our equipment — you agree to indemnify and hold Pittwater harmless from that claim, including reasonable attorneys' fees.

This is intentionally narrow. We don't expect to invoke it for ordinary site visitors; it's here for the rare cases where someone tries to weaponize an interactive feature.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the website at any time, without notice, if we believe you've violated these terms. The relevant sections (intellectual property, disclaimers, liability, indemnification, governing law) survive termination.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms or your use of the website will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Fairfield County, Connecticut, and you consent to that jurisdiction.

Before filing any formal claim, we ask that you contact us at hello@pittwater.co to attempt a good-faith resolution. We respond to every such inquiry.

Changes

When we materially change these terms, we update the Last updated date at the top. Continued use of the website after the update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. We do not expect frequent changes; if a change is significant (e.g. adding transactional features), we'll flag it on the homepage for a reasonable period.
